Cuban music has its origins in African and spanish rhythms, this particular blend has been, for many years, the main feature in whole world to recognize this tropical country.
Salsa, how is called for common people who doesn't know about music, is not the correct expression to name Cuban music. The traditional music is classified in the Point complex, Danzon complex, Rumba complex and Son complex.

Celia Cruz "La Guarachera de Cuba"
She was maybe the most popular femenine artist in the history of Cuba. In her beginnigs she song with La Sonora Matancera and became very famous, there she was for fifteen (15) years. After she song with other famous artist like Larry Harlow who belongs to FANIA and song a new music genre SALSA. After many years, also she song alone, and did great lyrics with fantastic rhytms.
La Orquesta Aragon
It was a cuban band formed in 1939, originally they were eight musicians, after were seven. They became very famous in 50's and 60's years.

A famous Cuban singer of Boleros, Guarachas and Son cubano.
This man is a singer and composer of cuban trova with a high social content which is also called protest music, in most of his compositions he speak about his country and situation of their people.
